Following Ideas & Traders

TradingView is also a social network for traders.

Thousands of traders share their trade setups, market analysis, and strategies publicly. You can follow them, learn from their posts, and even engage with their content. It’s a great way to see how others think, especially if you’re still learning.

An Idea is a chart or post published by a trader, explaining:

  • What they see in the market (trend, pattern, breakout, etc.)
  • Their reasoning behind the setup
  • Possible entry/exit levels, targets, or risks

Ideas are often visual showing actual charts marked with trendlines, support/resistance levels, or indicators.

You can:

  • Read the full explanation.
  • View the chart setup.
  • Like, comment, or follow the trader who posted it.
  1. Open TradingView
  2. In the left sidebar, click “Ideas.”
  3. Use the search bar or filters to explore:
  • Specific stock symbols (e.g., NIFTY, TCS)
  • Categories like “Long,” “Short,” “Breakout,” or “Technical Analysis”
  • Time-based filters (Today, This Week, etc.)

You’ll now see a feed of trading ideas from users across the world.

If someone’s analysis style resonates with you, you can follow them.

Steps:

  1. Click on the username of any idea/post.
  2. View their profile, recent ideas, and followers.
  3. Click “Follow”

Their future ideas will now show up in your “Following” feed, similar to Instagram or Twitter.

If you find an idea that you want to revisit later:

  1. Click the “star” icon on the post.
  2. It gets saved under your profile → “Saved Ideas.”

You can also copy the chart to your workspace and make your own edits.

Engaging with the Community

You can:

  • Like an idea to show support
  • Comment to ask questions or discuss.
  • Share ideas with friends or groups.

TradingView’s social layer is one of the few places where technical traders from around the world exchange thoughts actively with charts to back it up.

Following ideas and traders turns TradingView into a live learning platform. Instead of watching videos or reading theory, you learn by observing real-time market analysis from others, right on your charting tool.
