Tata Motors Ltd, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, was incorporated on 1st September 1945 and is headquartered at Bombay House, Mumbai. Listed on the NSE (TATAMOTORS) and BSE (500570), it is a constituent of the Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices. As India’s largest automaker, Tata Motors designs, manufactures, and sells a wide range of vehicles including passenger cars, utility vehicles, commercial trucks, buses, defence and luxury vehicles (via Jaguar Land Rover), as well as parts and automotive services.

Tata Motors operates across multiple segments: passenger vehicles (cars, MPVs, SUVs, EVs), commercial vehicles (trucks, buses, defence), luxury segment (Jaguar Land Rover), auto components, and vehicle financing/leasing. It also offers mobility solutions and engineering services via subsidiaries. Revenue is generated through vehicle sales in domestic and international markets, JLR exports, spares and services, financing interest income, and B2B contracts. Joint ventures and fleet leasing further diversify its earnings, supported by global manufacturing and R&D capabilities.
