SIP stands for Systematic Investment Plan. It's a simple way to invest a fixed amount regularly in a chosen investment option.

Here's how it works:

  • Choose SIP mode: When investing, select the SIP option.
  • Set your frequency: Decide how often you want to invest. This could be weekly, monthly, quarterly, or even yearly.
  • Start your SIP: Your SIP will be activated when you place your first order in a basket.
  • Automated investing: After the initial investment, your SIP is automatically executed.
  • For Kotak 3-in-1 account users, the SIP instalment will be automatically debited from their bank account. Users without a Kotak 3-in-1 account can set up a mandate to ensure funds are automatically pulled in time for their SIP.
  • Stay in control: You have the flexibility to change the frequency, the next instalment date, or stop your SIP entirely at any time.

Want to modify your SIP? Here's a simple guide:

  • Locate your SIP: Go to your dashboard and select the investment basket you wish to modify the SIP for.
  • Access SIP options: You'll see an "Active SIP" section. Click on the three dots icon to view your options.
  • Edit SIP terms: To adjust the frequency, amount, or next instalment date, select "Edit SIP Terms."
  • Modify basket composition: If you want to increase or decrease the quantity of the stocks included in your basket, you can choose “Edit Composition."

That's it! You now have the flexibility to manage your SIP according to your investment goals.

Follow these simple steps:

  • Find your basket: Go to your dashboard and locate the basket you want to invest more in.
  • Look for the "Invest More" button: You'll find this option at the bottom of the basket details page.
  • Choose your investment type: Decide whether you want to make a one-time investment or start a new SIP for this basket.

Want to change the stocks in your basket? Here’s how:

  • Locate your basket: Go to your dashboard and find the basket you want to modify.
  • Access manage holdings: On the basket details page, look for the "Manage Holdings" option.
  • Buy or sell stocks: Use this feature to buy new stocks or sell existing ones within your basket. This feature isn’t allowed in third party baskets.
  • Update SIP (optional): If you have an active SIP, you can choose to align your SIP composition with the changes you've made to the basket.

Remember: There will be brokerage charges associated with buying or selling individual stocks.

A rebalance is when the experts who created your basket decide to change its composition due to changes in market conditions. This could mean adding a new stock, removing an existing one, or adjusting the weight allocation of the stocks in the basket.

How does it work?

  • Expert Review: The experts periodically review the basket's performance and make necessary changes.
  • Rebalance Prompt: You'll receive a notification and see a prompt on your dashboard when a rebalance is needed.
  • Confirm Changes: Review the proposed changes and confirm them to update your basket.

By rebalancing, your basket continues to align with the experts' investment strategy, helping you achieve your financial goals.

Note: There might be brokerage charges associated with buying or selling stocks during the rebalance process.

Creating Your Basket

  • Start Creating: Click on the "Create" button at the bottom of your screen.
  • New Basket: Click on "Create New" at the top right corner of the screen.
  • Add Stocks: Use the search bar to find and add the stocks you want to include in your basket. You need at least two stocks to create a basket.
  • Name Your Basket: Give your basket a clear and descriptive name that reflects your investment goals. This personalisation helps you stay focused on your financial objectives.
  • Save or Invest: Decide whether to save your basket as a draft for later or invest in it immediately.

Testing Your Basket

  • Draft Testing: If you saved your basket as a draft, you can click on it to see its potential performance since creation or modification. You can also use the "Test My Strategy" feature to simulate past performance.
  • Investment: Once you invest in your basket, its performance will be tracked under "My Investments" -> "Self Created" tab on your dashboard.

Remember: Past performance is not indicative of future results.

A Repair is a process to rectify incomplete or failed orders in your basket.

Sometimes, your orders to buy or sell stocks might not be fully executed due to various reasons like insufficient funds, lack of liquidity in the market, or other technical issues.

When this happens, a Repair option becomes available. You'll receive a notification about this and can also see it on your dashboard.

To fix the issue, simply click on the "Repair" option and confirm the revised orders. This will attempt to complete the pending part of your order.

Volatility refers to how quickly and significantly the price of the basket can fluctuate over time.

Higher volatility means the basket's price can change rapidly and dramatically, both up and down.

Lower volatility indicates that while the basket's price changes, it does so more gradually and with less dramatic swings.

How is it measured? We compare the price swings of your basket to those of the Nifty 50, a major market index.

Low volatility: The basket's price experiences smaller fluctuations compared to the Nifty 50.

Medium volatility: The basket's price fluctuates to a similar extent as the Nifty 50.

High volatility: The basket's price shows greater fluctuations than the Nifty 50.

Important to remember:

  • Higher volatility often means higher potential returns, but also higher risk of losses.
  • Lower volatility generally means lower potential returns, but also lower risk of losses.
  • It's essential to understand your risk tolerance before investing in a high-volatility Basket.

An eMandate is like giving your bank or service provider permission to automatically deduct money from your bank account for recurring payments.

How does it work?

  • You authorise: You give permission to your bank to allow automatic deductions.
  • Recurring payments: The specified amount is automatically debited from your account on the due date.
  • No manual intervention: You don't need to remember payment dates or manually transfer funds.

Benefits of eMandates:

  • Convenience: No more missed payments or late fees.
  • Security: Ensures timely payments without exposing your financial information.
  • Efficiency: Saves time and effort.

Important to know:

Security: Your money is safe. Only the SIP amount will be debited, not the entire mandate limit.

Flexibility: You can modify or cancel the eMandate at any time.

By setting up an eMandate, you can enjoy a hassle-free investment experience.
