Polycab India Limited was incorporated on January 10, 1996, originating from a 1964 family electrical business. Promoted by the Jaisinghani family, led by Chairman & MD Inder T. Jaisinghani, it’s headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The company is listed on NSE (POLYCAB) and BSE (542652). Polycab designs, manufactures, imports, and sells wires, cables, fast-moving electrical goods (FMEG), and EPC services across India and exports to over 70 countries.
Polycab Business Segments and Revenue Model
Polycab operates in three main verticals:
- Wires & Cables (power, building, solar, instrumentation cables)
- FMEG (fans, switches, lighting, solar products, conduits)
- EPC (electrical infrastructure projects for utilities)
Revenue is predominantly generated from Wires & Cables (~88%), with FMEG (~7%) and EPC (~5%) adding diversification. The Wires & Cables business offers stable volume-driven sales, FMEG delivers higher margins, and EPC yields project-based lump sums. Additionally, exports and licensing add to revenue.
