Axis Bank Limited, originally founded as UTI Bank in December 1993 by SUUTI (Unit Trust of India) and insurance companies, is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is listed on both NSE (AXISBANK) and BSE (532215) and is part of the Nifty 50 and Sensex. The bank offers a full suite of financial services including retail and corporate banking, investment banking, mortgage loans, private banking, wealth and asset management, backed by a network of over 5,700 branches and digital channels.

Axis Bank operates through several verticals: retail banking (savings/current/deposits, personal loans, credit cards), corporate & institutional banking, SME & rural banking, treasury & forex, and digital banking services including payments and merchant acquiring. Its revenue mix primarily consists of net interest income (interest earned minus interest paid), complemented by fee-based income from cards, wealth management, and treasury operations. The bank’s digital and branch expansion support loan growth, deposit mobilisation, and recurring fee revenue streams.
