Exporting Charts for Sharing & Analysis
Once you’ve marked up your chart with trendlines, indicators, or strategy setups, it’s time to save and share that work.
TradingView makes it easy to download, copy, or publish your charts so you can:
- Keep a record of your trades
- Share ideas with friends, mentors, or communities
- Use visuals in presentations, blogs, or trading journals
How to Export a Chart Image
Method 1: Download as Image
- Set up your chart (zoom, indicators, drawings, etc.)
- Click the camera icon ? on the top-right of the chart
- Click Download Image — that’s it!
This saves a clean PNG file of your chart as it appears—including all drawings and text.
Method 2: Copy Chart to Clipboard (For Quick Sharing)
- Click the camera icon
- Select “Copy Link to Chart Image”
- Paste it into WhatsApp, email, Discord, or Slack
Anyone who clicks the link will see your chart, even if they don’t use TradingView.
Use Cases for Exported Charts
Trade Journal | Attach screenshots alongside entry/exit notes |
Peer Review | Share setups for feedback |
Content Creation | Use in YouTube, blogs, or Instagram posts |
Client/Team Reporting | Share market views professionally |
Before/After Trade Comparisons | Track how your analysis played out |
Bonus: Publishing to the TradingView Community
If your chart includes a valuable setup or lesson, consider using:
- “Publish Idea” (from the top-right menu)
This adds a title, description, and makes it public on your profile and the Ideas feed.
You can use it for personal archiving or to build a following.
Optional Settings for Clean Exports
Before you save or share, you can:
- Hide drawings (Ctrl + Alt + H)
- Change background (dark/light) under Settings → Appearance
- Crop or annotate using external tools (like Canva or Snipping Tool)
This helps keep the focus on your main point—especially useful when sharing on social platforms or in professional decks.
To Sum Up
Exporting charts helps you:
- Document your process
- Share ideas clearly
- Build confidence through visual feedback
It’s not just for social media—it’s a habit used by serious traders to track thinking, refine strategy, and grow faster.
