Chart Layout Templates and Cloud Sync
If you often re-add the same indicators, redraw support zones, or change your chart colours every time - you’re wasting time.
TradingView gives you tools to save your full chart layout, sync it across devices, and access it instantly from anywhere. In this chapter, we’ll cover:
- How to create layout templates
- Saving and switching between them
- Cloud sync for auto-backup and mobile access
What is a Chart Layout?
A chart layout includes:
- The indicators and drawings on your chart
- The timeframes you use
- Your color schemes, gridlines, and appearance settings
- Your split-screen setups (if any)
When you save a layout, you’re saving your workspace exactly the way you like it.
How to Save a Layout in TradingView
Steps:
- Open a chart and customize it—add indicators, change timeframes, add drawings
- Click on the “Layout” icon at the top-right (next to the timeframes)
- Select “Save Layout As…”
- Give it a name like “Swing Setup”, “Intraday View”, or “Dark Mode Layout”
- Click Save
Now you can switch to this layout anytime with just two clicks.
Switching Between Layouts
Let’s say you have:
- One layout for intraday (with 15-min candles + VWAP)
- One layout for swing trades (daily chart + RSI + MA)
You can switch between them instantly:
- Click the Layout dropdown at the top-right
- Select the layout you want
No need to reload indicators or reset anything.
Cloud Sync – Never Lose Your Work
TradingView automatically saves and syncs your layout to the cloud when:
- You’re logged into your account
- You click “Save” or autosave is enabled
This means:
- You can open your layouts from any browser
- You can access the same setup on mobile/tablet
- If your browser crashes, your layout is safe
Pro tip: Turn on autosave in Settings → Chart Settings → Autosave every X minutes
