Thereafter, Company was converted from a Private Limited to a Public Limited Company, pursuant to which, a fresh Certificate of Incorporation dated May 20, 2025 was issued to Company by the Registrar of Companies, Central Processing Centre. The Company was incorporated on November 1, 1975 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited. It was conferred the status of Mini Ratna (Category II) company in 2009 and were further upgraded to the status of Mini Ratna (Category I) company by the Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India in 2019.
