Jio Financial Services Limited (JFSL) was incorporated on July 22, 1999, as Reliance Strategic Investments Private Limited. It is promoted by Mukesh Ambani / Reliance Group and headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was demerged from Reliance Industries and listed as an independent entity on NSE (JIOFIN) & BSE (543940) on August 21, 2023. Its core business includes NBFC operations, payment services, insurance broking, wealth & asset management, digital financial platforms, and payment banking.
Jio Financial Business Segments and Revenue Model
JFSL operates through several subsidiaries and joint ventures: Jio Finance (digital lending and credit services), Jio Insurance Broking, Jio Payment Solutions, and Jio Payments Bank. It also has a JV with BlackRock for asset management and broking. Revenue sources include interest income from lending, fees and commissions from insurance broking, transaction fees from payments, management/advisory fees from asset management, and income from payment bank operations.
