L&T Finance Holdings Limited, established in 2008 as part of Larsen & Toubro Group, is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with its registered office in Powai. It is listed on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (533519) and the National Stock Exchange (LTF). The company provides a wide array of financial services including rural finance, housing finance, microfinance, wholesale finance, and vehicle & equipment financing. With operations across 23 states in India, over 850 branches, and a presence in South Asia, it serves diverse segments from rural enterprises to urban infrastructure.

L&T Finance’s operations are organised into six business verticals:

  • Rural & Microfinance: Offers microloans, small business credit, and self-help group (SHG) financing to rural customers.
  • SME & Mid-Corporate Finance: Provides working-capital and term loans to small and medium businesses.
  • Commercial Vehicle & Construction Equipment Finance: Finances trucks, buses, tractors, and machinery.
  • Housing Finance: Offers home loans, micro-home loans, and low-cost housing solutions.
  • Wholesale Finance & Infrastructure: Targets developers, hospitals, non-banking corporates, and renewable projects.
  • Housing Finance: Offers home finance to salaried and self-employed individuals.

Income is generated through interest spread on loans, fee income (processing, prepayments, insurance), and income from treasury operations. A diversified portfolio—with a balance between secured and unsecured loans, rural and urban, retail and wholesale—offers stability and mitigates risk.

  • 2008 – Established as a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro to offer diverse financing solutions.
  • 2009 – Launched rural finance operations in Gujarat and Bihar.
  • 2011–12 – Initiated SME finance and commercial vehicle financing verticals.
  • 2014 – Entered microfinance segment by acquiring stake in Grama Vidiyal.
  • 2015 – Introduced housing-finance vertical to serve urban and semi-urban segments.
  • 2017 – Achieved over 850 branches and expanded to South Asian markets.
  • 2019 – Launched LTFH’s digital lending platform and mobile solution for underserved segments.
  • 2021 – Achieved Rs. 1 lakh crore in total loan asset milestones; strong fintech collaborations.
  • 2023 – Initiated green-finance programs for solar pump financing and renewable energy projects.
  • FY25 – Gross loan book crossed ₹1.25 lakh crore; rural lending grew ~22%, SME by ~18%.
