Iran is allegedly intending to impose charges on oil that passes the Strait of Hormuz and increase measures of control. The action is taken against the background of continuous ceasefire tensions and may affect the global oil flows in trade.
Iran is set to introduce a transit fee of $1 per barrel on oil shipments moving through the Strait of Hormuz, according to reports.
The charge will be paid in the form of cryptocurrency, and shipping companies will be obligated to disclose cargo information to Iranian authorities prior to transit. Passing of empty tankers can be done without charge.
What Are The Proposed Rules For Ships?
Under the proposed system, vessels will need to inform Iranian authorities in advance about their cargo via email.
Once evaluated, the ships will need to pay in digital currencies, including Bitcoin, within a short time frame.
Iran has also suggested that transit through the strait will be subject to prior permission, and vessel movement will be monitored more strictly.
Officials have threatened to take military measures against any illegal transit, further strengthening restrictions on the course.

What Is The Current Situation In The Strait?
The Strait of Hormuz is a very important energy passage in the world, with approximately 20% of global oil and gas passing through it.
Although the United States has a truce with Iran, the situation is on high alert, and the military presence and movement of vessels are limited in the region.
There have been reports that the ships in the region have been on guard, with most ships not moving due to confusion about navigation regulations.
It is also suggested that there might be a partial and restricted opening of the strait in the next few days.
