Markets slipped amid geopolitical worries, dragging Sensex and Nifty lower, though GIFT Nifty is showing early signs of recovery. Keep an eye on TCS, Bharti Airtel, JSW, and Tata Steel.

Indian equity indices continued their decline on 9 April 2026 after the Israeli strikes on Lebanon. The Nifty 50 declined by 0.9% to settle near 23,780, and the BSE Sensex fell 1.2%, or over 900 points, to close just above 76,630. However, on 10 April, GIFT Nifty indicated an upward trend for the Nifty 50. It was up by 0.42% at 23,985, and equity-index futures for the US (S&P 500) closed 0.62% up.

Here is a list of the stocks in focus:

TCS: The company announced strong Q4 results with a net profit of ₹13,718 crore, revenue of ₹70,698 crore, and EBIT of ₹17,870 crore.

HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd: The company’s board announced plans to raise funds through a preferential issue of equity shares.

Bharti Airtel: The company received two notices with penalties of ₹6.32 lakh and ₹2.02 lakh imposed by regulatory authorities for non-compliance with licensing norms.

JSW Steel: The company’s steel production increased by 8% from 27.79 MT in FY25 to 30.14 MT in FY26.

Eicher Motors: Royal Enfield marked its entry into the electric vehicle segment with its all-new Flying Flea C6 in its 125th year.

Tata Steel: The company has increased its shareholding in Tata Steel Colors Private Limited (TSCPL) to 100%.

Poonawala Fincorp: The company opened its Qualified Institutions Placement on April 10 with a floor price of ₹390.26 per share.

JSW Energy: The company is planning to move towards full ownership of its entity, JSW Mahanadi Power. Recently, the company exercised call options to buy the remaining 26% stake.

KEC International: The company has received a demand notice of ₹46 crore from the Income Tax department.
