Global AI Tools

AI screeners don’t work alone.

They run on top of large language models (LLMs) built by global tech companies — and each platform has its own strengths and limits.

As an investor, you don’t need to master the technology behind them.

But you should know what these platforms can and cannot do for stock screening, so you use them effectively without expecting magic.

  • Strengths:

    • Great at understanding natural language queries.
    • Can handle both fundamental and technical prompts with ease.
    • Very beginner-friendly: you can simply type “Find large-cap pharma stocks with profit growth in the last 5 years and above 200-DMA.”
  • Limitations:

    • Without real-time connection, it may work on outdated data.
    • Can “hallucinate” — giving results that look right but are not verified.
    • Needs careful prompts to stay accurate.

  • Strengths:

    • Excellent at analysing long documents like annual reports, balance sheets, or research PDFs.
    • Can summarise company reports quickly — saving time for investors.
  • Limitations:

    • Not as strong with structured finance queries (like indicators or ratios).
    • May struggle with technical charting instructions compared to ChatGPT.

  • Strengths:

    • Web-first approach: quick at scanning online sources.
    • Integrated with the Google ecosystem — handy for searching news and financial summaries.
  • Limitations:

    • Accuracy can vary; sometimes mixes verified and unverified data.
    • Less specialised in stock/finance than other tools.

  • Strengths:

    • Works directly inside Excel — a big plus for investors who use spreadsheets.
    • Can help turn screener results into tables, charts, or dashboards.
  • Limitations:

    • General-purpose tool, not specialised for stock market queries.
    • Needs external data sources for Indian markets.
  • Use ChatGPT for building and refining prompts.
  • Use Claude when you want insights from long reports.
  • Use Gemini for quick searches across web content.
  • Use Copilot for spreadsheet-based screening or analysis.

Remember: none of these tools on their own are perfect. The best results come when you combine them with verified data sources (like exchange filings or reliable financial portals).

Global AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Copilot make stock screening more flexible.

Each brings a unique edge — natural language handling, document reading, web search, or Excel integration.

But they also come with gaps: outdated data, accuracy concerns, or limited coverage of Indian markets.

The smart way to use them is as assistants, not advisors — always cross-check their outputs with official filings and reliable sources before acting.
