Power Grid’s revenue grew 0.2% YoY

  • Power Grid reported an 8.3% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) decrease in its consolidated revenues for the quarter ended June (Q1FY25). On a year-on-year (YoY) basis, it witnessed a growth of 0.2%.
  • Its expenses for the quarter were down by 6% QoQ and 0.7% YoY.
  • The net profit reduced 10.6% QoQ and 3.5% YoY.
  • The earnings per share (EPS) of Power Grid stood at 4.1 during Q1FY25.

Power Grid’s Financial Statements for Q1FY25:

Financials:

  • Net Profit: ₹3,724 crores, up 3.5% year-on-year.
  • Revenue from Operations: ₹11,006 crores, up 0.4% year-on-year.
  • EBITDA: ₹9,602 crores, down 0.8%, with margins declining 40 basis points to 87.2%.
  • Transmission Segment Revenue: ₹10,053 crores, compared to ₹10,200 crores in the previous year quarter.
  • Consultancy Business Revenue: ₹153 crores, up 23% year-on-year from ₹124 crores.

Management Commentary:

K. Sreekant, Managing Director of Power Grid Corporation of India, said,

  • “Major highlights of this Q1, we have won 2 TBCB projects, one for renewable energy integration from Ananthapuram and Kurnool and another RE evacuation from Rajasthan. These have levelled tariffs of about ₹341 crores.

  • The smart meter project has taken off. We have received the order from Gujarat. We have been talking about this for some time now. This has 69 lakh meters. In addition, over the next 2 years and 3 months, we will implement this and have an investment of about ₹4,067 crores.”
