Infosys announced a strategic pact with AI safety pioneer Anthropic to integrate Claude into its Topaz suite. This alliance focuses on agentic AI for regulated sectors like telecom and finance and aims to scale AI deployments. Read further to know more.
Infosys has announced a high-stakes collaboration with Anthropic. Anthropic is a San Francisco-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) giant behind the Claude family of models.
The market reacted to the deal immediately. Infosys shares rose 5% and touched a high of ₹1,431 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The core of this partnership involves integrating Anthropic’s frontier models. These models include the developer-centric Claude Code, which is set to be integrated into the Infosys Topaz ecosystem.
Initially, the duo will launch a dedicated Anthropic Centre of Excellence. This institution would be specifically designed for the telecommunications sector in Bengaluru. It would then scale across financial services and manufacturing. The alliance is combining Infosys’ deep domain expertise with Anthropic’s safety-focused models. Thus, it aims to bridge the gap between AI "demos" and reliable, regulated enterprise deployments.
What Is Infosys’ View On This?
Our work with Anthropic reflects a focused step toward practical enterprise adoption, helping organisations use technology in a way that is smarter, more stable, and accountable, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said about the collaboration.
“Together, Infosys and Anthropic aim to help clients reimagine the enterprise operating model by combining deep industry expertise, frontier AI, and engineering scale into one unified approach,” Infosys said in a statement on 17 February 2026.
Why Will Agentic AI Be Core Focus?
With agentic AI, systems are no longer limited to providing answers; instead, they can even perform multi-step tasks, such as claims processing, code testing, and compliance reviews, without any human intervention.
Leveraging such capabilities, Infosys and Anthropic intend to develop AI agents capable of working across long, complex processes persistently instead of one-time interactions.
The industries' uses of this system are:
-
Telecom: Improve network operations and customer management.
-
Financial services: Faster risk analysis and automated compliance.
-
Manufacturing: Support product design and simulation.
-
Software development: Use Claude Code to write, test, and debug programs more efficiently.
What’s The Takeaway For Investors?
The collaboration between Infosys and Anthropic is a blueprint for the next decade of IT services.
For investors, this is less a trading trigger and more a signal to watch execution. The partnership strengthens Infosys’ enterprise AI story, but returns will depend on how quickly these tools move from pilots to billable deployments.
