L&T Finance Company background

Founded in: 2008
Managing director: Sudipta Roy

L&T Finance Holdings Limited, established in 2008 as part of Larsen & Toubro Group, is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with its registered office in Powai. It is listed on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (533519) and the National Stock Exchange (LTF). The company provides a wide array of financial services including rural finance, housing finance, microfinance, wholesale finance, and vehicle & equipment financing. With operations across 23 states in India, over 850 branches, and a presence in South Asia, it serves diverse segments from rural enterprises to urban infrastructure.

L&T Finance’s operations are organised into six business verticals:

  • Rural & Microfinance: Offers microloans, small business credit, and self-help group (SHG) financing to rural customers.
  • SME & Mid-Corporate Finance: Provides working-capital and term loans to small and medium businesses.
  • Commercial Vehicle & Construction Equipment Finance: Finances trucks, buses, tractors, and machinery.
  • Housing Finance: Offers home loans, micro-home loans, and low-cost housing solutions.
  • Wholesale Finance & Infrastructure: Targets developers, hospitals, non-banking corporates, and renewable projects.
