Mopa International Airport, Goa
The Mopa International Airport, now officially known as Manohar International Airport, commenced operations in January 2023. The airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 11, 2022, and began handling domestic flights from January 5, 2023, with international operations starting later in July 2023.
The initial capacity of the airport is 4.4 million passengers per year under Phase 1, with plans to gradually expand capacity through subsequent phases. By late 2024, the airport's capacity was expected to reach 8 million passengers annually, and further expansions are planned to accommodate up to 13.1 million passengers per year by 2045.
