RailTel Corporation of India has secured a ₹115 crore order from Power Grid Corporation for service-related work, with the project scheduled for completion by September 2034.
RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has secured a ₹115.20 crore services contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The contract has been awarded through a Letter of Intent (LOI) and relates to services that RailTel will provide to the Power Grid. The project is expected to run over the long term, with completion scheduled for 10 September 2034.
RailTel also clarified that the order does not involve related-party transactions and that its promoters or promoter group entities have no interest in the awarding company.
What Did RailTel Say About The GAIL MoU?
In another disclosure, RailTel responded to media reports that it planned to collaborate with GAIL (India) Ltd to develop digital infrastructure.
The company affirmed that the two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 5 March 2026 to seek the opportunities that could be available in digital infrastructure development.
However, RailTel emphasised that the arrangement remains non-binding, and discussions are still at a preliminary stage. No specific project scope or commercial terms have been finalised yet.
The company added that the agreement does not qualify as a material disclosure under SEBI regulations and that it has no additional information that could explain recent share price movements.
What Is Stock Performance?
RailTel shares were trading around ₹288.25, close to the previous session’s closing level. It touched an intraday peak of ₹291.65, up 1.09%.
However, the stock has declined more than 15% over the past month, reflecting recent market trends.

What Does This Mean For Investors?
To the investors, the Power Grid order provides additional visibility to the RailTel order pipeline, especially considering that the project will spread over a few years. Contracts with large government-backed entities often provide relatively stable execution opportunities.
Meanwhile, the disclosure on the GAIL accord suggests the digital infrastructure partnership is at an initial stage, and no commercial obligations have been established so far. Investors should likely watch whether such collaborations translate into firm contracts or new revenue streams in the future.
