CEAT Limited was incorporated in India on March 10, 1958, originally founded in 1924 in Turin, and acquired by RPG Group in 1982. Headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, the firm is listed on both NSE (CEATLTD) and BSE (500878). CEAT designs, manufactures, and distributes tyres for passenger vehicles, two- and three-wheelers, trucks, buses, off-highway, and farm equipment across India and select international markets.

CEAT operates through three primary verticals:

  • Passenger vehicle tyres and 2/3-wheeler tyres
  • Commercial and off-highway tyres, including farm and construction equipment
  • Replacement and OEM segments, serving both aftermarket and vehicle manufacturers

The firm generates revenue from the sale of tyres across these segments, leveraging a robust manufacturing infrastructure and distribution network. OEM sales provide volume stability, while replacement tyres offer higher margins. Export revenue adds diversification. The firm finances operations through retained earnings and allocates capex to expand capacity and margin improvement initiatives.
