Union Quality Plastics Limited was established in July, 1984. The Company is the manufacturer of polyethylene fabric based products for packing, shelter, waterproofing and horticultural applications. It is an ISO 9001 certified Organization and its products such as tarpaulins, canal linings and Vermibeds are BIS certified. The tarpaulins as per IS: 7903 are supplied to various Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti in Gujarat State. Geomembrane as per IS: 15351 is used for water proofing lining under NHM Scheme and Vermibed BIS 15907 is another product supplied under NHM.In 1994, the company expanded the capacity of HDPE woven sacks and tarpaulins from 1080 metric tons per annum to 3600 metric tons per annum and diversified into the production of flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs). It entered into a technical collaboration with Custom Packaging Systems, US, for the manufacture of FIBCs. It also has a 100% buyback arrangement with the collaborator for the FIBC produced by the company. It came out with a public issue in Nov.94 to partfinance the project. Commercial production of this project commenced in 1995.
