LWS Knitwear Limited, belonging to the LWS Group of Ludhiana, was incorporated as a Private limited company in May 1989. The company promoted by Girish Kapoor and Sunish Sunda, became a Public Limited Company in April 1991. The Company is engaged into manufacture of hosiery goods/knitted cloth/garments.From trading in hosiery, the company, in 1994, started manufacturing lambs wool and angora blended yarn of 16 mm count at an installed capacity of 120 tons per annum which are used in the manufacturing of hosiery knitwear. It came out with a public issue in April 1994 to partfinance the project of setting up an unit in Ludhiana, Punjab. The Company installed some new machines during the period FY 201516.Knitted fabric is a textile that results from knitting, the process of inter looping of yarns or inter meshing of loops which may be used as for garments for men, women and children. Knitted fabrics are used for manufacturing of various garments such as dresses, skirts, tops, underwear, pajamas, tshirts, scarfs, sweaters, cardigans, fitting dresses, leggings, cardigans, shirts, turtlenecks, cuffs, cardigans, etc. The Company source products through thirdparty manufacturers and also sell knitted garments under the LWS brand.
