India Shelter Finance Corporation Limited was incorporated under the name Satyaprakash Housing Finance India Limited on October 26, 1998, as a Public Limited Company, pursuant to a Certificate of Incorporation dated October 26, 1998. A Certificate for Commencement of Business dated November 18, 1998, was granted to Satyaprakash Housing Finance India Limited by the Registrar of Companies, Madhya Pradesh at Gwalior. Pursuant to Change of the Name of Company from Satyaprakash Housing Finance India Limited to India Shelter Finance Corporation Limited, as approved by Shareholders, Company was issued a fresh Certificate of Incorporation dated July 8, 2010, by the Registrar of Companies, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh at Gwalior. A Certificate of Registration dated September 14, 2010 was granted to Company by the National Housing Bank (NHB) to carry on the business of a housing finance institution without accepting public deposits.The Company is a retail housing finance company with a distribution network of 266 branches in the States of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat and a scalable technology infrastructure. Company is engaged in providing secured retail home loans,home equity loans and loans against property to borrowers for a period up to twenty years. These loans are primarily to be used by the borrowers for home purchase, home improvements, home extension and for construction of dwelling units on plots owned by borrowers. Under the scale based regulation the Company is categorised as Middle layer (HFCML).Apart from these, the Company has an integrated customer relationship management and loan management system set up on a cloudbased platform, providing with connectivity and access to real time information for customers. The IT systems allows them to increase productivity, reduce turnaround times and transaction costs. In 2009, the Company was taken over by the Individual Promoter. In 2010, the Company started operations by opening the first branch in Rajasthan. In 2016, the Company opened first branch in Southern India in Karnataka State through expansion of geographical presence. In 2023, the Asset Under Management (AUM) crossed Rs 4,359.4 Crores. The Company launched the Initial Public Offering of 24,340,768 equity shares of face value of Rs 5 each by raising funds aggregating to Rs 1200 Cr, comprising a fresh issue of 16,227,180 equity shares aggregating to Rs 800 Crore and 8,113,588 equity shares aggregating to Rs 400 Crore via offer for sale in December, 2023. The AUM crossed Rs 6,084 Crore in FY24. The Company added 40 new branches during the year 2024 to improve the branch productivity. The Company has crossed 260+ branches in FY 2025 followed by the addition of 43 new branches during the year 2025.

For the full year FY2025–2026, revenue reached ₹1175.93 crore and profit touched at ₹377.87 crore. As of Mar '26, India Shelter Finance Corporation’s market capitalisation stood at ₹8,934.54 crores. Shareholding as of Mar '26 shows promoters holding 47.5%, with FIIs at 6.9%, DIIs at 21.4%, and public at 24.2%.
