Transformers Rectifiers India Limited (TARIL) was originally incorporated on 11 July, 1994 as Triveni Electric Company Limited. Mr. Jitendra U. Mamtora and Mr. Satyen J. Mamtora promoted the Company. In 1995, the Companys name was changed to Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited. Currently, the Company is having 2 manufacturing facilities situated at Changodar and Odhav situated in Ahmedabad. The Company acquired Odhav unit in 2006 as part of the expansion plans. Operating manufacturing facilities at Changodar, Moraiya Odhav in Gujarat, TARILs combined capacity across all plants has stood at nearly 75,000 MVA. The Companys business mainly comprises of manufacturing and selling of various kinds of transformers such as power, and distribution transformers, furnace transformers, rectifier transformers, and specialised transformers.In 1998, the company received as ISO 90012000 by Bureau Veritas, in respect of design manufacturing and servicing of distribution transformers, power transformers (up to 200 MVA, 220 kV class) and furnace transformers (up to 63 MVA, 33 kV class). In 2006, the company increased the production capacity of the plant located at Changodar from 4000 MVA p.a to its present capacity of 6,000 MVA p.a. In order to effectively augment this units production capacities, the company has initiated several expansion and debottlenecking procedures to facilitate this expansion, including installation of new winding machines, separate oven for coil drying, segregation of despatch area along with 100 MT capacity EOT crane and employing additional manpower.In year 200607, the Company acquired the manufacturing facility of M/s Transformers and Rectifiers India, the proprietorship concern of Mr. Jitendra Mamtora, at Odhav. The said Facility started regular manufacturing from December,2006. The Company carried out a debottlenecking exercise at the existing Changodar facility, which increased the total installed capacity between the existing Changodar Unit and Odhav unit to 7200 MVA per annum. In order to set up of greenfield manufacturing facility at Moraiya, near Ahmedabad for manufacturing of 220 kV Class above transformers and to part finance incremental working capital requirements, during December, 2007, the Company made an Initial Public Offer (IPO) of 29,95,000 Equity Shares of Rs.10/ each at a price of Rs.465/ per share aggregating to Rs. 13,927 lacs through 100% book building procedure. The shares were listed for trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange Limited (BSE) and National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) w.e.f. 28th December, 2007.The Company started regular commercial supplies of 400 KV Class Transformers which was developed inhouse. In FY 2011, it supplied the first 400 KV Transformer to a State Electricity Board. Again, it entered into an arrangement with ZTR, a reputed Ukrainian company for manufacture and supply of 765 KV Class transformers to PGCIL.During the year 201415, the Company acquired the Shares of Savas Engineering Company Private Limited and hence it became the wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.The approval of the 100 MVA, 132 KV Scott Connected Transformer by RDSO was a milestone in highspeed train operations in FY24. The Company completed a Dynamic Short Circuit Test on 500 MVA, 400/220/33 kV Three Phase Auto Transformer. It conducted a Short Circuit Test on 250 MVA, 2x33/ 400 KV Power Transformers for Solar application transformers, further completed Short Circuit Test on 8.8 MVA 33/2X0.690 kV Inverter Duty Transformer having Aluminum Winding, conducted at CPRI (Central Power Research Institute),Bangalore in FY 2024.The Company has acquired 51% in Triveni Transtech (India) Private Limited, making it a subsidiary in FY 2025. TARIL completed Short Circuit Test on 8.8 MVA 33/2X0.690 kV Inverter Duty Transformer having Aluminum Winding, conducted at CPRI (Central Power Research Institute), Bangalore. Further, it completed Dynamic Short Circuit Test on 500 MVA, 400/220/33 kV Three Phase Auto Transformer as per IEC 60076 5 standard and latest CEA guidelines. It passed the Short Circuit Test on 250 MVA, 2x33/ 400 KV Power Transformers, one of the highest ratings in the world, for Solar application transformers in FY 2024.The Company has increased capacity from 40,000 MVA to 75,000 MVA. in FY 2026. It commenced operations at four backward integration plants for CTC, Bushing, Press Board and Fabrication during the year 2026. The Company became the first nonPSU Indian company to enter the HVDC transformer segment by securing an order from POWERGRID for the repair of a 397 MVA, 400 kV Converter Transformer. It completed FAT testing and delivered a 175 MVA EAF transformer to a customer in Mexico.

For the full year FY2026–2027, revenue reached ₹2569.65 crore and profit touched at ₹272.17 crore. As of Jun '26, Transformers & Rectifiers India’s market capitalisation stood at ₹8,994.47 crores. Shareholding as of Jun '26 shows promoters holding 64.4%, with FIIs at 7.8%, DIIs at 1.5%, and public at 26.3%.
