Foreign Exchange Market is a marketplace where participants can buy, sell, trade, and speculate on currencies. Investment management businesses, banks, central banks, hedge funds, commercial companies, investors, and retail forex brokers make up the foreign exchange markets.
The forex market is dominated by commercial banks, foreign exchange brokers, authorised dealers, and monetary authorities. It operates 24/7, with trading occurring in major financial centres worldwide. Economic data, geopolitical events, and central bank policies influence the market. The exchange rate, which represents the value of one currency relative to another, is determined by supply and demand forces in the market. Despite having trading hubs, the market remains global, with multiple markets for participants to transact.
