Uno Minda Ltd, originally incorporated on 9th July 1958 as Minda Silencer, is currently part of the Samvardhana Motherson Group. Headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, it is listed on both the National Stock Exchange (UNOMINDA) and Bombay Stock Exchange (532539). Uno Minda is a leading global supplier of automotive components and systems, serving original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the two-wheeler, passenger vehicle, commercial vehicle, and off-highway segments. The company operates across more than 65 manufacturing plants in 21 countries, employing over 20,000 people worldwide.

Uno Minda Business Segments and Revenue Model

The company operates through seven divisions:

  • Safety Systems – horn systems, beepers, ABS actuators, and steering columns.
  • Lighting – headlamps, tail lamps, LED modules, and interior lighting.
  • Power and Signal Distribution – switches, wiring harnesses, connectors, and fuse boxes.
  • Thermal Systems & Fluid Management – fans, pumps, washer reservoirs, filters.
  • Remote Key & Security – key fobs, central locking systems, immobilizers.
  • Sensor Systems & Mechatronics – engine sensors, air flow sensors, mechatronic units.
  • Plastic and Rubber Components – under-hood plastics, bumpers, rubber moulded parts.

Revenue is generated through long-term OEM supply contracts, component sales, design and development services, and aftermarket sales. The company’s global footprint, in-house R&D, and diversified product portfolio support integrated solutions and recurring business from vehicle platforms across geographies.

Uno Minda Key Milestones

  • 1958: Incorporated as Minda Silencer, manufacturing automotive silencers for bikes.
