Sportking India Limited was incorporated on 15 February, 1989. The Company emerged as one of Indias leading textile company owns 3 stateoftheart manufacturing facilities in India with latest machinery, producing yarns that set a benchmark in quality. The Company produces well diversified range of grey and dyed textile yarns to serve the weaving and knitting industry in domestic as well as international markets. Prior to this, it engaged in the business of hosiery knitwears and readymade garments at New Delhi. Due to shortage of skilled and semiskilled labour in hosiery knitwear and readymade garments, the company suspended these activities in 199394.The company diversified its activities by installation of 6520 spindles at Meharban (Ludhiana district), Punjab, to manufacture acrylic yarn, which commenced commercial production on 3 Dec.93.In 1995, the company embarked on an expansion programme to set up a new spinning unit with a complement of 12,000 spindles in the first phase, out of the envisaged capacity of 25,000 spindles for the manufacture of acrylic / synthetic yarn, at Kanech, Punjab. In order to partfinance the project, it came out with a public issue in Dec.95.In 201819, the Company expanded at Bathinda Unit adding 68K+ spindles with stateoftheart plant for manufacturing of cotton compant yarn. In June 2022, the Company commissioned 10.2 MW Rooftop Solar Power Project at Bathinda Unit. In 202223, it commissioned two additional capacity projects. The first phase of 40,800 spindles of manufacturing of polyester cotton yarn in quarter second, and the second phase of 63,072 spindles in the end of quarter four.In 2024, the capacity expansion of spindles was fully integrated in existing capacity taking the count to 378576 spindles. All phases of rooftop solar power plant completed and total capacity was at 25 megawatts in FY 2025.In 2026, the Company is in the process of executing a greenfield expansion project to enhance its spinning capacity through the installation of 150,000 spindles. The Company has acquired a 26% equity stake in M/s Evincea Renewable Seven Private Limited for generation supply of solar energy in Punjab in 2026.
