Medi Caps Limited was incorporated by S L Mittal in August, 1983 as a Private Limited Company and was converted into a Public Limited Company in Mar.86. Pharmaceutical companies procure empty hard gelatine capsules from Medi Caps for dosaged medicines meant for oral administration. The company is the secondlargest manufacturer of empty hard gelatine capsules in India. It takes several years for a company manufacturing capsules to attain zerodefect in production and to fully normalise operations. Medicaps can claim to have achieved this. In Apr.95, the company offered 6.11 lac rights shares to partfinance the Rs 9.20 crore expansion of its manufacturing facilities by installing four highspeed automatic capsulemaking machines.The companys manufacturing unit is located in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. The companys clientele include US Vitamins, SOL Pharmaceuticals, Dr Reddys Laboratories, Lupin Laboratories, Aristo Pharmaceuticals, etc. The other group company of Medicaps is Medicaps Finance which is engaged in finance related activities. In 199596, the company enhanced the capacity of empty hard gelatine capsules by 2500 lac. The company received ISO 9002 Certification during 199899. It developed six sizes of the Hard Gelatin Capsules in 200203. The company is closely working on commissioning of 13th Machine with 100% automisation. During 200203 the company established the export market in countries like China, Thailand, Dubai, Malaysia, South Africa and Philippines.The Company permanently discontinued its manufacturing activities on 21.11.2019 at the plant in Pithampur, Dhar Dist. and ventured into Real Estate Business and in continuation of this, it executed an agreement with the Tirupati Reality Developers on 12 October, 2020 for Project named Medi Caps Business Park.

For the full year FY2026–2027, revenue reached ₹20.66 crore and profit touched at ₹-3.04 crore.
