Indian Bank, founded on August 15, 1907, during the Swadeshi Movement, is headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with its registered office at 66, Rajaji Salai. The bank offers a wide network of over 5,900 branches and 5,200 ATMs, providing comprehensive retail and wholesale banking, including corporate, treasury, and international services.

Indian Bank operates through four main verticals: Retail Banking (savings, current accounts, loans, credit cards); Wholesale/Corporate Banking (working-capital finance, project & structured finance); Treasury (foreign exchange, fixed-income trading); and Other Operations (remittances, trade services, insurance via partnerships). The bank generates revenue through interest income (advances vs. borrowings), banking fees (loan, account, card charges), treasury investment returns, cross-border services, and insurance commissions. Strong deposit mobilization offers a low-cost funding base, supporting credit growth and profitability.
