SBFC Finance Limited was originally incorporated on January 25, 2008 as a Private Company with the name, MAPE Finserve Private Limited, issued by the Registrar of Companies, Mumbai. The Board approved the change in the name of Company from MAPE Finserve Private Limited to Small Business Fincredit India Private Limited dated July 3, 2017. Thereafter, the name changed from Small Business Fincredit India Private Limited to SBFC Finance Private Limited dated October 24, 2019. Subsequently, the status converted into a Public Limited Company and the name was changed from SBFC Finance Private Limited to SBFC Finance Limited vide fresh Certificate of Incorporation dated September 30, 2022 issued by the RoC.SBFC is a professionally managed organization, with Clermont Group (which consists of SBFC Holdings Pte. Ltd. and Clermont Financial Pte. Ltd.) and the Arpwood Group (which consists of Arpwood Capital Private Limited, Arpwood Partners Investment Advisors LLP, and Eight45 Services LLP) being its copromoters. SBFC is primarily focused in lending to MSMEs. The Lending product portfolio consists of Secured MSME loans and Loan against Gold and Fee based products consists of Loan Management Services for thirdparty financialinstitutions. The Company is in the business of giving loans to Micro Enterprise secured by residential or commercial property. It gives Loan against Gold, which offers superior yields with almost liquid security assets. It also gives unsecured personal loans and unsecured business loans.Apart from these, the Company handles the porting of repayment modes (NACH/ECS) and can transfer equated monthly instalments (EMIs) between accounts. For delinquent loans, it provide complete support to clients including phone calls, SMS outreach and field visits. Moreover, SBFCs loan Management Service initiates and executes all legal cases relating to delinquent and nonperforming asset (NPA) accounts. The Company incorporated a Subsidiary in the name of SBFC Home Finance Private Limited effective on December 6, 2022. The Company came up with an Initial Public Offer of 179,889,950 equity shares by raising funds aggregating to Rs,. 1025 Crore comprising a fresh issue of 105,328,548 equity shares aggregating to Rs 600 Crore and 74,561,402 equity shares aggregating to Rs 425 crore through offer for sale in August, 2023.Loan against Gold achieved AUM of Rs 1000 Crore in FY 2025.SBFC crossed Rs 10,000 crore of AUM in October 2025 and closed FY2026 with an AUM of Rs 11,270 crore. Profit after tax grew to Rs 451 crore. Return on average AUM remained strong at 4.58%, while return on average tangible equity improved to 14.18%. Gross NPA reduced to 2.61%. Company has expanded the business to 251 branches across the 18 states and 2 Union Territories in FY2026.

For the full year FY2025–2026, revenue reached ₹1306.75 crore and profit touched at ₹345.3 crore. As of Jun '26, SBFC Finance’s market capitalisation stood at ₹10,224.87 crores. Shareholding as of Jun '26 shows promoters holding 52.3%, with FIIs at 7.2%, DIIs at 20.7%, and public at 19.7%.
