The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE will remain closed on Friday, June 26, on account of Muharram. Since the holiday falls on a Friday, markets will remain shut for three consecutive days, including the weekend, before reopening on Monday, June 29.
Both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain shut during this period. Trading in equity cash market, equity derivatives, currency derivatives, securities lending and borrowing, and other market segments will remain suspended on June 26.
When Will Markets Reopen?
Normal trading across NSE and BSE segments will resume on Monday, June 29.
Which Market Segments Will Remain Closed?
Trading in the equity, equity derivatives, currency derivatives and SLB segments will remain closed on June 26. The holiday applies to both the NSE and BSE.
Muharram marks the second exchange holiday in less than a month after stock markets remained closed on May 28 for Bakri Id.

Stock Market Holidays in 2026
After the Muharram holiday, the next scheduled market holiday falls on September 14 for Ganesh Chaturthi. Other key trading holidays later in the year include Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Dussehra on October 20 and Christmas on December 25.
