Amazon, Eternal, Meesho, Swiggy and Zepto launched the Digital Commerce Coalition to support policy dialogue and sector growth.
India's leading digital commerce and quick-commerce companies, Amazon, Eternal(formerly Zomato), Meesho, Swiggy and Zepto, have come together to launch a new industry body called the Digital Commerce Coalition (DCC). The coalition was formally announced on 2 June 2026. It aims to represent the interests of India's rapidly expanding digital commerce ecosystem.
The coalition arrives at a time when India's digital commerce market is witnessing rapid growth. According to industry estimates cited by coalition members, the sector is currently valued at around $165 billion and is projected to reach approximately $450 billion within the next five years, accounting for nearly 22% of India's total retail gross merchandise value (GMV).
Coalition To Represent A Fast-Growing Digital Commerce Ecosystem
In a joint statement, the founding members said the Digital Commerce Coalition will focus on a broad range of issues affecting the sector, including customer experience, consumer trust, entrepreneurship, small business growth, delivery partner welfare, supply-chain efficiency, economic participation, sustainable growth and responsible innovation. The body is expected to serve as a platform for stakeholder engagement, industry research, policy discussions, knowledge sharing and thought leadership.
The coalition has emphasised that no single company can address the industry's emerging challenges alone. As digital commerce expands deeper into smaller cities and towns, the members believe a collective approach will help strengthen market access for entrepreneurs, improve supply-chain resilience and protect consumer trust.
Notably, Flipkart is not among the founding members of the new coalition, according to the companies' announcement and multiple industry reports.
Industry Body To Engage On Policy And Regulatory Issues
The coalition's secretariat will be managed by Koan Advisory Group, a New Delhi-based public policy consulting firm. The organisation will support research initiatives, stakeholder consultations and engagement activities on behalf of the coalition.

Industry executives say the formation of the Digital Commerce Coalition comes at a critical stage for India's digital economy, as policymakers increasingly examine issues such as consumer protection, platform accountability, gig-worker welfare, competition, logistics efficiency and sustainable growth. The coalition is expected to become a key industry voice in discussions shaping the future of India's e-commerce and quick-commerce sectors.
