What is a dormant account?
A dormant account is an account with no activity for 24 months, after which it is disabled for trading.
To keep your account active and prevent it from becoming dormant, you must complete at least one of the following within a 24-month period:
- Trading: A completed buy or sell order in any segment (Equity, F&O, Currency, etc.) via online or offline modes.
- Corporate Actions: Participation in an Offer for Sale (OFS), Buyback, or Open Offer.
- Primary Market: A successful bid in any IPO.
- Investments: Investing in Mutual Funds or Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) through your trading account.
- KYC Updates: Any account modification, such as updating your contact details, nominee, or address in your KYC records.
