Vivekanand Cotspin is engaged in cotton ginning and spinning, producing raw cotton bales, cotton seed, and cotton yarn in combed compact and carded compact grades. Its manufacturing unit at Rangpurda, Kadi, in the Mahesana district of Gujarat operates around 25,536 spindles and a ginning capacity of roughly 400 bales per day. The company also trades in cotton bales and cotton yarn and supplies imported premium cotton yarn to customers in India.

  • Funding capital expenditure requirements towards plant and machinery.
  • To meet working capital requirements.
  • General corporate purposes.

Cotton is India's dominant natural fibre. The country accounts for around 24% of global cotton production and holds nearly 40% of the world's cotton acreage, giving its spinners a durable raw-material advantage. India is also the second-largest producer of cotton yarn globally, contributing close to one-fifth of world output, with roughly 70% of that yarn consumed domestically by fabric and garment makers. Exports absorb the balance, and India remains the leading exporter of cotton yarn worldwide.

The wider textile and apparel market reached USD 185.6 billion in FY 2025. It is projected to reach USD 350.0 billion by FY 2030, a compound annual growth rate of about 13%. Cotton yarn production alone is expected to touch nearly 5 million tonnes by FY 2030. Demand is pulled by both domestic consumption and export orders. The sector contributes roughly 2.3% of India's GDP, about 13% of industrial production, and close to 12% of export earnings.

Vivekanand Cotspin operates in the ginning and spinning stages of this value chain. Its plant sits close to the cotton-growing belts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, and the Saurashtra region, shortening the raw-material supply line. That proximity, combined with rising downstream demand for combed and carded cotton yarn, places the Company within a growing segment of the domestic textile economy.

Vivekanand Cotspin is the flagship company of the Vivekanand Group, established in 1999. It runs a ring-spinning unit of about 25,536 spindles and a ginning capacity of roughly 400 bales per day. Annual capacity stands at approximately 4,551 MT of cotton yarn and 8,000 MT of cotton bales. The company was originally formed as Vivekanand Cotspin LLP in July 2015, converted to a private company in August 2024, and became a public company in December 2024.

Its product line spans raw cotton bales, cotton seed, combed compact and carded compact cotton yarn in counts from Ne 16 to Ne 40, and comber noil. In FY 2026, cotton yarn contributed 52.18% of sales and cotton bales 38.74%, with cotton seed and yarn waste making up most of the remainder. The spinning unit can produce organic yarn, BCI-compliant yarn, open-end yarns, and compact yarns. Capacity utilisation for cotton bales rose to 92.82% in FY 2026 from 81.94% in FY 2024.

The manufacturing facility is located at Rangpurda, Kadi, in the Mahesana district of Gujarat, near the cotton belts of Gujarat and Maharashtra. Exports reached Bangladesh, China, Vietnam, South Africa, Portugal, and Indonesia during FY 2026.

  • The company has forward integrated from cotton ginning into cotton spinning, feeding its own ginned cotton into yarn production and reducing reliance on external suppliers.
  • A location near the cotton belts of Gujarat and Maharashtra supports cost effective procurement and timely fulfilment of large and varied customer orders.
  • The scalable, capacity led business model lets the company raise output as demand grows, with cotton-bale capacity utilisation reaching 92.82% in FY 2026.
  • A quality focused production process spans yarn counts from Ne 16 to Ne 40, covering both fine-textile and industrial fabric requirements.
  • A portion of the company's sales and purchases runs through related parties such as Ambica Cotseeds and Vivekanand Industries, so any disruption to these arrangements could squeeze margins.
  • Cotton is a seasonal, price-volatile raw material, and swings in cotton prices or availability can directly raise the Company's cost of production.
  • The 25,536-spindle spinning capacity has been under-utilised, and prolonged under-utilisation would spread fixed costs over lower output and hurt profitability.
  • Revenue is concentrated in two main products cotton bales and cotton yarn leaving income exposed to a demand fall in either line.
  • Exports expose the company to foreign exchange volatility, and adverse currency movements can reduce export revenue and overall profitability.
