Markets set for weak open as GIFT Nifty dips; mixed global cues. Vedanta flags cost risks, Adani Power, Bajaj Finance post strong earnings; multiple companies including HUL, ACC report results.

The Nifty 50 is expected to have a weak start on 30 April 2026 after ending on a strong note on Wednesday. GIFT Nifty, which signals the likely opening trend for the benchmark Nifty 50, was trading 0.56% lower at 24,119.5 as of 6:22 a.m. Meanwhile, US S&P 500 futures advanced 0.43%, whereas Europe’s Euro Stoxx 50 futures declined 0.39%.

Asian equities began Thursday on a weak note, while the Federal Reserve maintained its current interest rate stance.

Here are some of the stocks in focus:

Vedanta: The company mentioned that the ongoing West Asia crisis can bring up the cost of aluminium production by $50–100 per tonne.

Adani Power: The company’s net profit increased by 52% YoY to ₹4,017 crore as compared to ₹2,637 crore in the same period last year.

Bajaj Finance: The company’s net interest income grew by 20% to ₹11,781 crore, while the net profit grew by 22%.

Schaeffler India Ltd: The company reported that its profit surged by 25.6% to ₹316.1 crore and the revenue grew by 18.9%.

Adani Green Energy: The company is planning large-scale battery storage expansion (10,000–15,000 GWh annually) to support round-the-clock renewable energy supply.

Larsen & Toubro Ltd: The company has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement with Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited to divest its full stake in L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited for ₹1,461.47 crore.

IIFL Finance: The company delivered a robust Q4 performance on Wednesday, April 29, with net profit surging to ₹586.8 crore compared with ₹207.7 crore in the same period last year.
