Borosil Scientific Limited reported its Q2 FY27 results today, with consolidated revenue rising 7.5% year-on-year to ₹114.96 crore from ₹106.90 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The company’s net profit increased 86.3% to ₹5.31 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹2.85 crore in the same period a year ago.

Borosil Scientific Limited share price closed at ₹109.40 on 28 October 2026. This was 2.58% up from its previous close.

The laboratory glass equipment and process systems business remained the company's largest segment. It brought in ₹79.05 crore in revenue, up around 8.3% from ₹72.99 crore a year ago. Segment profit before tax and other adjustments stood at ₹13.27 crore, compared with ₹13.01 crore in Q2 FY26.

Primary pharma packaging revenue rose 21.4% to ₹20.96 crore from ₹17.26 crore. However, the segment continued to report a loss, with its loss before tax and non-controlling interests at ₹2.60 crore. It had reported a loss of ₹5.13 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Consumer glassware revenue slipped to ₹14.96 crore from ₹16.65 crore, a decline of around 10.2%. The segment's profit also fell to ₹78.49 lakh from ₹1.06 crore.

The company's subsidiary, Goel Scientific Glass Works Limited, reported revenue of ₹11.28 crore and a net loss of ₹84.87 lakh during the quarter.

Alongside its results, the company has approved a capital expenditure of up to ₹70 crore to set up a borosilicate 3.3 glass tubing furnace at its Bharuch plant in Gujarat. The proposed facility will have a production capacity of around 20 metric tonnes per day. Its commercial production is expected to begin by 31 March 2028.

Borosil Scientific currently sources glass tubing from overseas suppliers for use in its glassware products. The new furnace is intended to reduce that dependence and give the company better control over supply, quality and availability. It could also help optimise manufacturing costs.

The tubing will mainly be used within the company, though any surplus may be sold to other buyers. The project will be funded through internal accruals and/or borrowings. It is also planning to apply for subsidies eligible under the Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026.
