Markets may open on a cautious note after recent volatility, with Q4 earnings and global cues in focus. Stocks like Wipro, Axis Bank, HDFC Life, and RVNL will be in focus.
After the volatile session on 16 April 2026, the markets today, i.e. 17 April 2026, are expected to open on a cautious note. The trends from Q4 earnings and uncertain geopolitical circumstances are pushing investors to the edge. In yesterday’s session, the Nifty 50 dropped by 0.14% or 34.55 points. The global indices, S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100, increased by 0.26% and 0.36%, respectively. However, the Asian markets are expected to open on a low note.
Which Stocks Are In Focus?
Here are some of the stocks that will be in focus:
Wipro: The company registered a profit of ₹3,501.8 crore in the Q4 filings, marking a decline of 1.9% on a year-on-year basis.
HDFC Life Insurance: The profit of the company increased by 4.65%, while premium income rose 9% on a yearly basis.
Axis Bank: The company announced a board meeting on 25 April 2026 to explore options to raise funds.
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd: The company said it has been identified as the lowest bidder (L1) for an East Coast Railway project to construct key bridges on the Bhadrak–Vizianagaram route.
CESC Ltd: The company said it has entered into power purchase agreements to source 600 MW of electricity from grid-connected wind-solar hybrid projects.
Alok Industries: The company registered a net loss of ₹186 crore in the latest quarterly report.
Waaree Renewable: The net profit of the company increased by 66% to hit the mark of ₹155.7 crore in the Q4 filings.
In addition, Jio Financial Services, Bajaj Consumer Care, Aditya Birla Money and Mastek will remain in focus ahead of their quarterly earnings announcements today.
