Eternal has expanded its strategic collaboration with OpenAI to deepen AI integration across its ecosystem, including platforms like Zomato, Blinkit, District and Hyperpure, as well as partner apps and internal systems.
Food delivery firm Eternal on Tuesday said it has expanded its strategic collaboration with OpenAI to strengthen artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across its businesses, including Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure, as well as its partner platforms and internal systems.
The company said the partnership will also extend to its Feeding India initiative and its AI-native venture, Nugget, signalling a wider push to embed AI more deeply into its e-commerce ecosystem.
What Will The Expanded Collaboration Focus On?
Eternal said the collaboration will focus on deploying AI across its apps and platforms, reflecting the growing role of AI in India’s digital commerce space.
As part of this expansion, Eternal will work with OpenAI’s Enterprise API platform to explore new ways customers and partners interact with its platforms. The company also plans to deploy advanced AI tools within partner applications and integrate OpenAI’s advanced coding models into its in-house AI systems.
Eternal said it is strengthening its AI infrastructure across both consumer-facing and enterprise platforms, building AI as foundational infrastructure across its ecosystem.
How OpenAI Models Will Be Used?
Eternal said it intends to deploy OpenAI models across select use cases, including:
-
AI-assisted workflows for merchants and delivery partners
-
Contextual AI assistants embedded within partner portals
-
Experimentation around next-generation search and discovery interfaces
The company stated that these initiatives aim to make AI more useful in everyday decisions and workflows while maintaining the speed and reliability its platforms require.
How Does This Impact Nugget And Feeding India?
Eternal said the partnership will also cover its AI-native venture Nugget, where OpenAI’s models will be used across select use cases to accelerate product development and iteration.
The collaboration also extends to the company’s social initiative Feeding India, although Eternal did not specify exact implementation details for the initiative.
What Is Eternal Planning For Its Internal Systems?
Internally, Eternal is exploring the integration of OpenAI’s latest coding models, including GPT-5.3-Codex, within Stitch, its in-house automation and developer orchestration platform.
The company said Stitch supports end-to-end automation across both engineering and non-engineering functions.
Eternal expects that integrating OpenAI’s coding models could improve Stitch’s ability to help teams ship faster, automate complex workflows, and reduce manual effort across functions.
Will Eternal Support AI Adoption Among Partners?
Eternal and OpenAI are also considering a structured Partner Upskilling Program to enlarge AI adoption in their restaurant and delivery partner ecosystems.
The programme will aim at integrating modern AI tools and assistants in partner applications and portals to enhance the efficiency of operations, compliance, and business decision-making.

What Does This Mean For Investors?
An expanded partnership with OpenAI signals that Eternal is treating AI as a core lever for long-term competitiveness and efficiency.
AI-led workflows, smarter partner support systems, and deeper automation can improve execution across its platforms. Over time, this can strengthen unit economics and enhance customer experience.
The focus on partner upskilling and wider AI adoption can also deepen network effects across merchants, delivery partners, and consumers.
Investors should closely track the pace of implementation. The key question is simple: does this translate into measurable gains in efficiency, engagement, and revenue across Eternal’s businesses?
