JioBlackRock Mutual Fund Files Draft Papers With SEBI For Two New Schemes: Life Cycle Fund 2056 And Ultra Short Term Fund

JioBlackRock Mutual Fund has proposed two schemes: a life cycle fund targeting 2056 and an ultra-short-term debt fund. Both propose a minimum investment of ₹500, but their investment objectives and time horizons differ.
JioBlackRock Mutual Fund has filed draft documents with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for two new schemes. These are the JioBlackRock Life Cycle Fund 2056 and the JioBlackRock Ultra Short Term Fund. Both are proposed investment options for Indian investors.
-
The JioBlackRock Life Cycle Fund 2056 is designed for long-term capital appreciation through changing asset allocation.
-
The JioBlackRock Ultra Short Term Fund is an income fund that aims to create income and maintain liquidity over a shorter time frame.
The schemes remain at the draft-document stage.
For both schemes, an investor can start with a minimum amount of ₹500 either through a lump sum or through a systematic investment plan (SIP). Further SIP contributions can be made in multiples of ₹1.
About JioBlackRock Life Cycle Fund 2056
The proposed JioBlackRock Life Cycle Fund 2056 will be an open-ended scheme with a predetermined maturity and a defined investment path. The fund will initially invest more in equities and other growth-focused assets. As it reaches its target maturity, it will gradually move toward debt and income-generating securities.
The portfolio may include:
-
Debt and money market instruments
-
Gold and silver exchange-traded funds (ETFs)
-
Related commodity derivatives
-
Real estate investment trusts (REITs)
-
Infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs)
All inclusions are subject to applicable regulations.
Its performance will be benchmarked against a composite comprising Nifty 500 Total Returns Index (TRI) (70%), Nifty Composite Debt Index (25%), Domestic Price of Gold (3%) and Domestic Price of Silver (2%).
About JioBlackRock Ultra Short Term Fund
The proposed JioBlackRock Ultra Short Term Fund will be an open-ended ultra-short term debt scheme that will invest predominantly in debt and money market instruments.
Its portfolio’s Macaulay duration, the weighted average time taken to receive its cash flows, is expected to remain between 3 and 6 months. The scheme is categorised as carrying moderate interest rate and credit risk.
The fund will seek to generate short-term income while maintaining liquidity. It will pursue an investing strategy aimed at capturing term and credit spreads through debt and money market products. It will be benchmarked against the NIFTY Ultra Short Duration Debt Index AI.
What Investors Should Know Beforehand
Both schemes under JioBlackRock Mutual Fund are intended for different investment needs. The life cycle option is aimed at investors seeking long-term capital appreciation aligned with the target year 2056 through a predefined asset-allocation path. The ultra short-term scheme is designed for those seeking income over a shorter period.
The filing of draft documents does not mean the schemes are already available for investment. Investors should check subsequent regulatory updates and the final scheme documents before making decisions.
