    Sensex fell 161 points and Nifty slipped 46 points. Vodafone Idea posted ₹51,970 crore profit, Tata Steel earned ₹2,965 crore, SAIL profit rose 46.7%, while Godrej Industries profit jumped 142.6% in Q4FY26.

    The Indian equity market ended the week lower, breaking its three-week consolidation phase amid persistent geopolitical uncertainty in West Asia, pressure on the rupee, and rising inflation worries.

    On Friday, 15 May 2026, the benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty 50, snapped a two-day winning run as investors turned cautious and booked profits following weak global cues. The Sensex fell 161 points, or 0.21%, to settle at 75,237.99, while the Nifty 50 declined 46 points, or 0.19%, to close at 23,643.50.

    Vodafone Idea

    The telecom operator reported a net profit of ₹51,970 crore in Q4FY26 against a loss of ₹5,286 crore in the previous quarter, largely due to a one-time exceptional gain. The company recorded an exceptional gain of ₹51,976 crore during the quarter, compared to an exceptional loss of ₹5,290 crore earlier.

    Power Finance Corporation

    The state-run lender said its board has reserved the proposal for the merger of Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd. (REC) Ltd into the company for approval by the President of India. The board also authorised its Chairman and Managing Director to seek approval for the proposed merger.

    Godrej Industries

    The company reported a consolidated Q4 net profit of ₹444 crore, up 142.6% from ₹183 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

    Premier Energies

    The company posted a 64.4% year-on-year increase in consolidated Q4 net profit to ₹456.8 crore, supported by strong revenue growth during the quarter.

    NCC Limited

    The infrastructure company reported an 18.8% decline in consolidated Q4 net profit to ₹206 crore from ₹253.8 crore in the year-ago quarter.

    Bajaj Electricals

    The company posted a consolidated net loss of ₹67.5 crore in Q4FY26, compared with a profit of ₹59.1 crore in the same period last year due to weaker operating performance.

    Tata Steel

    The company reported a Q4FY26 net profit of ₹2,965 crore. Revenue, EBITDA and margins were largely in line with expectations, while the company also reported an exceptional loss of ₹340 crore.

    RBL Bank

    Emirates NBD has received government approval to raise its stake in the bank above 49% to 74%. The approval also includes the proposed merger of Emirates NBD’s India operations into RBL Bank.

    Coal India

    The company said the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) has approved the listing of Mahanadi Coalfields through a mix of fresh equity issuance and an offer for sale by Coal India. The miner may divest up to a 25% stake in the subsidiary through the initial public offering (IPO).

    Hindustan Copper

    The company reported a Q4 net profit of ₹444 crore compared with ₹187.2 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue rose 58% year-on-year to ₹1,156 crore, while EBITDA increased to ₹627 crore.

    Steel Authority of India

    SAIL posted a 46.7% year-on-year rise in consolidated Q4 net profit to ₹1,836 crore, compared with ₹1,251 crore in the year-ago period. The figure also exceeded market estimates.

    Cochin Shipyard

    The company reported mixed March-quarter earnings, with both revenue and net profit declining year-on-year, although operating margins improved sharply due to better operational performance.

    Power Grid Corporation of India

    The company reported a 9.7% year-on-year rise in consolidated Q4FY26 net profit to ₹4,546.3 crore, compared with ₹4,143 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

    Godfrey Phillips India

    The cigarette maker reported an 86.7% year-on-year jump in consolidated Q4 net profit to ₹521.4 crore from ₹279.3 crore a year ago.

    Indian Oil Corporation, Afcons Infrastructure, Ola Electric Mobility and Apollo Micro Systems are expected to announce their quarterly results today.
