Suzlon Energy Share Price Falls Over 8% After Q2 Results Despite 26% Revenue Growth And Record Deliveries
Suzlon Energy shares fall over 8% after Q2 FY27 results despite 26% revenue growth and record quarterly deliveries of 710 MW.

Suzlon Energy shares came under sharp pressure following the release of the company’s second-quarter FY27 financial results. Despite 26% year-on-year revenue growth and record quarterly deliveries, operating margins weakened. Consolidated net profit also reflected a substantial difference against the previous year because of a deferred tax adjustment in Q2 FY26.

Suzlon Energy shares came under significant selling pressure on Friday, 30 October, following the company's September-quarter results announced a day earlier. The stock declined despite stronger revenue, higher deliveries and improved profitability on a comparable basis. The sharp reaction came as investors assessed the company's operating margins and earnings performance.

The wind energy company reported consolidated revenue growth during the quarter, supported by higher deliveries and improved execution. Its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), however, remained broadly unchanged compared with the corresponding period last year.

As of 11:25 am on 30 October, Suzlon Energy was trading at ₹33.65, down 8.53% from its previous close of ₹36.79. The stock touched an intraday low of ₹33.21, also marking its fresh 52-week low.

Suzlon shares have remained under pressure over the past year, with losses extending across shorter investment periods. As of 30 October 2026, the stock had declined 42.28% over one year and 35.64% since the beginning of 2026.

The consolidated financial performance for the September quarter was as follows:

Suzlon's Q2 FY26 earnings included a substantial deferred tax asset (DTA) creation, which inflated the previous year's reported profit. The Comparable profit after tax excludes the previous year's DTA creation.

Higher deliveries strengthened revenue growth, although the gains did not extend to operating profitability. Increased expenses and weaker contribution margins took their toll. EBITDA margin slipped, underscoring the gap between revenue expansion and operating returns.

Execution gathered pace during the quarter. Suzlon commissioned 454 MW, reflecting a marked improvement in project deliveries. Its order book moved beyond 6 GW, with EPC projects comprising 38% of the overall tally.

Other developments included:

  • First-half order intake exceeded 1.5 GW.

  • Public sector and commercial and industrial customers contributed 78% of the order book.

  • Long-term credit rating upgraded to CRISIL AA-/Stable.

These developments underline the company's expanding execution capabilities, even as its latest quarterly results were followed by a sharp decline in its share price.
