Reliance Industries Q2 FY27 Results Today: RIL Shares Fall Around 26% In 2026; Investors Await Refining Business Recovery

Reliance Industries shares have underperformed the broader market in 2026. This puts the spotlight on its September-quarter earnings announcement and business performance.
While the Nifty 50 has slipped a little over 12% this year, Reliance Industries (RIL) shares have fallen nearly 26%. The company will release its September-quarter results today. Investors will be looking at how its refining, Jio Platforms and retail businesses performed.
The earnings announcement comes at a time when investors are looking for signs of recovery in the company's refining business. Its performance will be among the key factors to watch as the market assesses the company's quarterly numbers.
Announcement Comes At A Critical Juncture
RIL shares ended Thursday's trading session at ₹1,167, gaining nearly 1% from the previous close of ₹1,158. At 10:11 am today, the RIL share price stood at ₹1,162.70, down 0.40% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
The results announcement is also significant because it comes just a couple of days after the bumper listing of Jio Platforms. Investors will be watching the performance of the digital business alongside the company's other major segments.
