Sun Pharma Sets Up New Global Treasury Centre At GIFT City
Sun Pharma has incorporated a new Sun Pharma Global Treasury Centre in GIFT City.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries has incorporated Sun Pharma Global Treasury Centre IFSC Limited as an indirect wholly owned subsidiary in GIFT City, Gandhinagar. The new entity will undertake treasury, funding, liquidity and cash management activities for the group.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has incorporated a new subsidiary, Sun Pharma Global Treasury Centre IFSC Limited, at GIFT City, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The entity was incorporated on 8 September 2026 as an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

The new company will operate in the financial services segment, with its activities centred on global treasury and cash management services. The company said the entity will function as the Global Treasury Centre for the Sun Pharma group.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Sun Pharma shares closed at ₹1,864.90 on 9 September 2026, compared with the previous close of ₹1,885.90. The stock opened at ₹1,892.60, moved to a high of ₹1,898.60 and touched a low of ₹1,864.90 during the session.

The Sun Pharma Global Treasury Centre has been created to centralise and undertake a range of financial activities for the group. These include treasury operations, funding, liquidity management and cash management, along with other financial activities permitted under the applicable framework.

The company belongs to the financial services industry rather than the pharmaceutical operating business. Its role is therefore focused on managing the group's financial and treasury requirements through the new subsidiary.

Sun Pharma will initially invest around ₹9.50 crore in the equity share capital of the new subsidiary. The investment will be made in cash.

Sun Pharma Laboratories Limited holds the entire share capital of the entity, including through its nominee shareholders. The promoter and promoter group have no interest in the entity other than through the Sun Pharma Group as stated under the disclosure of the parent company.

The GIFT City IFSC entity will require registration or approval from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) before undertaking its proposed activities. Since the company has been newly incorporated, no separate completion period applies to the transaction.
