    Indian markets ended lower before the RBI policy decision. ONGC, Nykaa, Marico, Castrol India, Deepak Nitrite and NHPC posted strong quarterly results, while HDFC Bank's AGM and key earnings remain in focus.

    Indian equity benchmarks ended lower on Tuesday, snapping a four-session winning streak ahead of the Reserve Bank of India's monetary policy announcement. The Nifty 50 fell 0.64% to 24,614.90, while the BSE Sensex declined 0.27% to 78,428.95.

    ONGC

    Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) reported stronger-than-expected June-quarter earnings. Profit more than doubled sequentially as higher realisations from premium-priced gas produced at new wells boosted earnings, despite largely stable production levels.

    Nykaa (FSN E-Commerce Ventures)

    Nykaa's parent company, FSN E-Commerce Ventures, delivered a strong set of June-quarter results. Consolidated net profit more than tripled year-on-year to ₹79.7 crore, compared with ₹24.4 crore in the same quarter last year, reflecting a sharp improvement in profitability.

    HDFC Bank

    HDFC Bank will hold its 32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 5 August. Shareholders will consider proposals to raise funds through the issuance of Additional Tier I perpetual debt instruments, Tier II bonds and long-term infrastructure bonds via private placements. The meeting follows the resignation of former non-executive chairman Atanu Chakraborty.

    Marico

    FMCG major Marico posted better-than-expected June-quarter earnings. Consolidated net profit increased 27% year-on-year to ₹652 crore, while revenue rose 23% to ₹3,957 crore, exceeding market estimates on both counts.

    Bharti Hexacom

    Bharti Hexacom reported a solid performance for the June quarter. Consolidated net profit rose 23.2% year-on-year to ₹482.4 crore, up from ₹391.6 crore a year earlier.

    Castrol India

    Castrol India reported strong second-quarter CY2026 results. Net profit climbed 42.5% year-on-year to ₹347 crore, while revenue from operations increased 25% to ₹1,871 crore. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) also grew 40.8%, reflecting healthy operational performance.

    Deepak Nitrite

    Deepak Nitrite delivered a robust set of June-quarter results. Net profit surged to ₹345 crore from ₹112.2 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations rose 36.4% year-on-year to ₹2,577.6 crore, while EBITDA nearly tripled to ₹540.2 crore.

    NHPC

    State-owned hydropower producer NHPC reported a consolidated net profit of ₹1,095.87 crore for the June quarter, up 2.9% from ₹1,065.02 crore in the corresponding period last year.
