Adani Enterprises Share Price Jumps 6% as Nifty’s 2026 Top Performer Gets Airport Business Boost
Adani Enterprises shares jump 6% as airport deal boosts value-unlocking hopes for investors.

The airport unit’s deal gives AAHL an external valuation benchmark of around $18 billion, with Temasek, BlackRock-managed funds, Alpha Wave Global and Premji Invest joining as investors.

Adani Enterprises shares rose as much as 6.08% on Wednesday, September 9, extending the strong run that has made the stock one of the best performers in the Nifty 50 this year. The stock touched Rs 3,132.90 on the NSE, against Tuesday’s close of Rs 2,953.10, before paring some gains.

At 12:20 pm, Adani Enterprises was trading at Rs 3,093.60, up Rs 140.50 or 4.76%. Around 3 million shares had changed hands across the BSE and NSE during the session. The sharp rise came even as the broader market remained weak, with the Sensex and Nifty under pressure amid a surge in crude oil prices and renewed tensions in West Asia.

The latest move adds to Adani Enterprises’ gains in 2026. The stock had already risen 31.85% through Tuesday’s close, according to the data provided, making it one of the strongest performers among Nifty 50 stocks this year.

The stock's rise on Wednesday stood out against the broader market sell-off. The Sensex and Nifty fell in early trade as crude oil prices moved closer to $100 a barrel, raising concerns over inflation and costs across sectors.

Adani Group stocks, however, largely traded higher. Adani Ports gained around 3%, while Adani Green Energy rose 3.6%. Adani Energy Solutions, Adani Power, Adani Total Gas were also up 1-2%, while ACC and Ambuja Cements posted smaller gains.

For Adani Enterprises, the latest rally follows a strong performance through the year. The stock has continued to attract buying even as market sentiment has turned cautious, with Wednesday's gains taking it further above the Rs 3,000 mark.

The immediate trigger was news from the group's airport business, which is an important asset within the Adani Enterprises portfolio.

Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, announced a Rs 9,825 crore primary equity raise from a consortium comprising Alpha Wave Global, Premji Invest, Temasek and funds managed by BlackRock. The transaction gives the airport business a pre-money equity valuation of around $18 billion.

The deal is expected to bring the investors a combined 5.54% holding in AAHL once all three tranches are completed. The final tranche is expected by July 2027.

The transaction has brought renewed attention to the value of Adani Enterprises' airport asset. Kranthi Bathini of Wealthmills Securities said the development was positive for AEL as value unlocking was taking place in Adani Airports, which is an important asset for the company.

AAHL plans to use the capital to expand and modernise its airport infrastructure, develop its Airport City ecosystem and grow passenger-facing and other non-aeronautical businesses, including ground handling.

For Adani Enterprises shareholders, the focus is therefore not just on the capital raised by the airport business but also on how the transaction helps establish an external valuation for one of AEL's key assets. With the stock already among the Nifty's strongest performers in 2026, Wednesday's gains add to the momentum around the company.
