Market Midday, 30 June 2026: Sensex And Nifty Lose Momentum

The Sensex and Nifty 50 erased morning gains as the day progressed. Traders closely watched the talks between the US and Iran. At 12:21 pm, the Sensex was down 0.11%. Nifty 50 was down 0.089% during the same time.

Broader markets looked robust. At 12:22 pm, the:

• Nifty Midcap 100 index was up 0.47%

• Nifty Smallcap 100 index was up 0.93%

Among sectoral indices, the Nifty IT witnessed a major decline. Even Nifty Media and Nifty Metal underperformed. However, outperformance was recorded in Nifty Chemicals and Nifty Realty.

• Genus Power shares fell 11% in early trade after the stock’s block deal in the pre-open block window.

• Vedanta Iron & Steel shares surged 10% in intraday deals, extending their winning streak to 11 consecutive sessions.

• KEC International shares climbed nearly 7% in early trade after the company announced fresh orders worth ₹1,754 crore across its transmission and distribution and cables and conductors businesses.
