Muhurat Trading 2026 Highlights: Sensex Falls 29 Points, And Nifty Slips Below 25,000 As Samvat 2083 Begins

Muhurat Trading 2026 ended on a mixed note. The Sensex and Nifty lost their early gains to close marginally lower at the start of Samvat 2083. Broader market participation remained positive, though, with more than 3,100 stocks gaining. Pharma and media stocks did well, but banking, IT and realty shares faced pressure.
Indian equity markets began Samvat 2083 with a special Muhurat Trading session that was held on 8 November 2026. The session followed a strong seven-day rally, during which benchmark indices had recorded their longest winning streaks in several months. Investors entered the new Hindu financial year amid renewed foreign investor buying and improving market sentiment.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty initially traded higher. However, both benchmarks ended the session down from their respective opening.
At 3:31 pm, the BSE Sensex was down 28.62 points (0.04%) at 80,999.40. The Nifty 50 declined 43.95 points (0.18%) to 24,986.40. But despite marginal losses, the market breadth remained positive.
What Were The Key Highlights Of Muhurat Trading 2026?
1. Sensex And Nifty Give Up Early Gains
