Diwali 2026: These 8 Stocks Gain Over 100% Since Last Diwali While Nifty Fell 3%. Do You Own Any?
Eight BSE 500 stocks gained over 100% since Diwali 2025, led by Aditya Infotech, HFCL and Welspun Corp, while the Nifty 50 fell nearly 3%.

Aditya Infotech, HFCL and Welspun Corp topped the list of eight BSE 500 multibaggers over the past year. Their gains contrasted with a nearly 3% decline in the Nifty 50 and weak returns across much of the broader market.

Eight BSE 500 stocks delivered returns of more than 100% between Diwali 2025 and Diwali 2026, even as the Nifty 50 declined nearly 3% over the same period. Aditya Infotech led the gains with a return of 191.39%, followed by HFCL at 186.53% and Welspun Corp at 180.22%, according to ACE Equities data.

Laurus Labs gained 153.83%, while Ather Energy rose 132.19%. Acutaas Chemicals, Welspun Living and Aether Industries were the other companies whose shares more than doubled in value. An investment of ₹1 lakh in Aditya Infotech last Diwali would have grown to approximately ₹2.91 lakh, while a similar investment in HFCL would have been worth ₹2.87 lakh.

The strong returns were limited to a handful of companies. Of the 500 stocks in the BSE 500 index, only 190 recorded positive returns during the Diwali-to-Diwali period. The remaining 310 failed to post gains, highlighting the difference between the performance of individual stocks and the broader market.

The figures come as Indian stock markets mark Diwali 2026 with a special Muhurat Trading session on November 8, which also marks the beginning of Samvat 2083. Several of the year's biggest gainers ended the last regular trading session before Diwali in the red.

  1. Aditya Infotech, which trades under the NSE symbol CPPLUS, emerged as the biggest gainer with a return of 191.39% since Diwali 2025. The electronic security and surveillance equipment company's shares closed at ₹4,131.40 on the NSE on November 6. The stock had touched a 52-week high of ₹4,619.10, while its 52-week low stood at ₹1,310.20. An investment of ₹1 lakh last Diwali would have grown to approximately ₹2,91,390, excluding taxes and transaction charges.

  2. HFCL was the second-biggest gainer, rising 186.53% over the Diwali-to-Diwali period. The telecom equipment company's shares closed at ₹210.66 on November 6, falling around 5% during the session. The stock's reported 52-week high stood at ₹282.10, compared with a low of ₹59.83. Despite Friday's decline, a ₹1 lakh investment made last Diwali would have been worth approximately ₹2,86,530.

  3. Welspun Corp followed with a return of 180.22%. The pipe manufacturer's shares closed at ₹2,204.90 on November 6, down around 7.6% for the day. The stock had reached a 52-week high of ₹2,899.95, while its 52-week low stood at ₹709.75. A ₹1 lakh investment over the Diwali-to-Diwali period would have grown to approximately ₹2,80,220.

  4. Laurus Labs was another major gainer, with its shares rising 153.83% since Diwali 2025. The pharmaceutical stock closed at ₹2,340 on the NSE on November 6, down 0.26% for the session. Its reported 52-week high stood at ₹2,442, compared with a low of ₹913.35. An investment of ₹1 lakh last Diwali would have been worth approximately ₹2,53,830.

  5. Ather Energy also delivered triple-digit returns, gaining 132.19% during the period. Shares of the electric two-wheeler manufacturer closed at ₹1,821.70 on November 6, up around 2.4% for the day. The stock had touched a 52-week high of ₹1,840, while its low stood at ₹582.05. A ₹1 lakh investment made last Diwali would have grown to approximately ₹2,32,190.

  6. Acutaas Chemicals, formerly known as Ami Organics, gained 110.79% between Diwali 2025 and Diwali 2026. The stock closed at ₹3,786.60 on November 6, rising 0.42% for the session. Its reported 52-week high stood at ₹4,040, compared with a low of ₹1,571.20. An investment of ₹1 lakh over the period would have increased to approximately ₹2,10,790.

  7. Welspun Living rose 107.23% during the year, although its shares ended Friday's session lower. The home textiles manufacturer's stock closed at ₹241.30 on November 6, down 4.75% from the previous close. The stock had touched a 52-week high of ₹267.40, while its low stood at ₹107.40. An investment of ₹1 lakh last Diwali would have been worth approximately ₹2,07,230.

  8. Aether Industries completed the list with a return of 104.89%. Shares of the specialty chemicals company closed at ₹1,561.80 on November 6, up 0.61% for the session. Its reported 52-week high stood at ₹1,813, compared with a low of ₹723.15. A ₹1 lakh investment made last Diwali would have grown to approximately ₹2,04,890.

The investment values are calculated using the reported Diwali-to-Diwali share-price returns and exclude dividends, brokerage charges and taxes.

The performance of these eight stocks stood apart from the broader market. According to ET, only 190 BSE 500 stocks recorded positive returns between Diwali 2025 and Diwali 2026, while the remaining 310 failed to post gains. Of the 190 gainers, just eight delivered returns exceeding 100%.

The Nifty 50, meanwhile, declined nearly 3% over the same period. The benchmark ended the final regular trading session before Diwali at 25,030.35 on November 6, while the Sensex closed at 81,028.02.

The difference between annual returns and the latest trading session was visible in several of the multibaggers. HFCL, Welspun Corp and Welspun Living declined on November 6 despite having more than doubled since the previous Diwali. Laurus Labs also ended Friday lower, while Ather Energy, Acutaas Chemicals and Aether Industries closed with gains.

The eight stocks came from different sectors, including electronic security, telecom equipment, steel pipes, pharmaceuticals, electric vehicles, chemicals and textiles. Aditya Infotech recorded the highest return at 191.39%, while Aether Industries, the eighth stock on the list, gained 104.89%.
