Sensex and Nifty 50 traded higher in afternoon deals as easing US-Iran tensions and softer oil prices boosted sentiment. Read more. 

The BSE Sensex and the Nifty 50 continued to trade higher in the afternoon trading session. This was after oil prices dipped as tensions between the US and Iran seemed to cool. At 11:39 am, the Sensex was up 0.031%, while the Nifty 50 was up 0.048%. Broader markets traded mixed. At 11:40 am, the:

  • Nifty Midcap 100 index was up by 0.12%.

  • Nifty Smallcap 100 index was down by 0.38%.

Stocks of the following companies were the top five performers on the Nifty 50 today at around 11:40 am:

  • Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.

  • Tech Mahindra Ltd.

  • HCL Technologies Ltd.

  • Eternal Ltd.

  • Nestle India Ltd.

  • Bharat Electronics shares declined 3.5% in early trade despite the company reporting a consolidated net profit of ₹1,054.53 crore for Q1 FY27.

  • Coal India share prices dipped 2% in early trade after the company declared its Q1 FY27 results, where it reported a consolidated net profit of ₹8,852 crore.

  • TCS, Infosys, HCL Tech and Tech Mahindra shares climbed as much as 3% in early trade as investors poured money into the sector in the middle of a global sell-off in artificial intelligence (AI)-linked stocks.

  • Coforge shares surged 6.64% in early trade after the company reported a robust Q1 FY27 performance.

Several companies are anticipated to declare their Q1 FY27 results today, including:

  • Ambuja Cements

  • City Union Bank

  • Larsen & Toubro

  • Varun Beverages

  • Tata Capital

  • Suzlon Energy

  • Supreme Industries

  • Hindustan Unilever

In the primary markets:

Investor focus is expected to stay on the ongoing Q1 FY27 earnings season, with results from several heavyweight companies due later in the day. Global cues and crude oil prices are also likely to influence market sentiment in the remaining hours.
