Sterlite Tech Shares Rise On US Certification
Sterlite Tech shares are in focus after the company secured OFNP certification in the US for fibre assemblies.

Sterlite Technologies has secured US OFNP certification for its IBR pre-terminated fibre assembly portfolio aimed at indoor AI data centre connectivity. The company is also targeting ₹20,000 crore revenue by FY29 and plans to expand its capacity.

Sterlite Technologies Limited has secured Optical Fibre Nonconductive Plenum (OFNP) certification in the US for its Intermittently Bonded Ribbon (IBR) pre-terminated assembly portfolio. It is designed for indoor connectivity in artificial intelligence (AI) data centres.

The certification covers a range of fibre assemblies and adds to the company's offering for hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data centre applications.

On 11 September 2026 at 1:50 pm, the Sterlite Tech share price stood at ₹870.50, up 1.84% from the previous close of ₹854.75 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The stock opened at ₹870 and touched a high of ₹882 and a low of ₹830 during the session.

With the US certification, Sterlite Technologies said its portfolio is now positioned among AI-ready infrastructure offerings featuring indoor cable assemblies qualified under NFPA 262.

The company said the cables are designed for environments where routing space is limited. They allow data centre operators to increase bandwidth capacity within constrained duct spaces while maintaining safety compliance.

Badri Gomatam, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Optical Networking Business at Sterlite Technologies, said the certification for the company's IBR cable family reflects its focus on developing fibre connectivity solutions for hyperscale data centre requirements, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Sterlite Technologies has set a FY29 revenue target of ₹20,000 crore and aims to become one of the world's top five players in optical connectivity solutions.

The company has identified expansion in the optical total addressable market (TAM), customer co-development, integrated connectivity solutions and technology-led differentiation as key growth drivers. It also plans to increase its capacity to 1.5 times to support its next phase of expansion.

As part of its capital allocation, the company plans to invest ₹1,000 crore annually over the next three financial years. The investment will be used to expand preform, fibre and cable capacities by 50%.

It has also committed 2% of annual revenue towards continuous technological innovation across multi-core fibre (MCF), hollow-core fibre (HCF) and co-packaged optics (CPO).

Sterlite Tech reported revenue of ₹1,910 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, up 87% from ₹1,019 crore in the corresponding quarter a year earlier. Revenue also increased 33% sequentially from ₹1,441 crore in Q4 FY26.

Profit after tax (PAT) increased 870% to ₹197 crore from ₹10 crore in the year-ago quarter. In Q4 FY26, the company had reported a PAT of ₹59 crore.

The company attributed its strongest quarterly performance in Q1 FY27 to higher demand for optical connectivity products, growth in its data centre business and a record order book linked to AI-ready digital infrastructure.

In 2026, Sterlite Tech shares recorded a sharp rise. The stock has gained 350% over the past six months and around 730% on a year-to-date (YTD) basis.
