Anthropic IPO Filing Reveals US$16.3 Billion Revenue, US$80.7 Billion Loss And Plans For Massive AI Infrastructure Spending
Anthropic IPO’s financial filing reveals revenue growth, customer concentration and US$450 billion cloud commitments.

Anthropic has publicly filed its registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission ahead of its planned initial public offering (IPO). The Claude maker reported US$16.3 billion in revenue for the six months ended June 2026, compared with US$4.6 billion for the whole of 2025.

Anthropic, the company behind the Claude artificial intelligence (AI) platform, has publicly filed its registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission ahead of its proposed initial public offering. The filing gives prospective investors a closer look at the company’s rapid growth, financial losses and spending commitments.

According to reports, Anthropic generated US$16.3 billion in revenue in the six months ended June 2026. That was almost 4 times higher than the US$4.6 billion it reported for the whole of 2025. The company is expected to trade under the ticker symbol ANT.

However, the IPO figures also highlight the cost of building and running advanced AI systems.

Anthropic’s IPO filing shows a net loss through June 2026 of US$80.7 billion, although it says most of that loss resulted from accounting charges. The company reportedly recorded a loss of US$42 billion in 2025.

The report does not provide a full reconciliation of the accounting charges, so the extent to which they reflect non-cash items or other adjustments cannot be fully understood yet.

The sharp increase in reported revenue nevertheless points to the scale at which Anthropic’s business is expanding. Investors will need to assess how much of that growth can eventually translate into sustainable profits.

Anthropic reportedly spent US$9 billion on AI infrastructure in the first six months of 2026, as compared with US$7.3 billion in all of 2025. The company also plans to spend more than US$450 billion on cloud computing through agreements with providers such as Amazon and Google, both of which are already investors in Anthropic.

This shows the large infrastructure requirements behind AI services, as developing and serving models requires huge computing capacity and cloud resources. Although such high spending can support future growth, it can also create significant financial commitments that may near-term hurt profitability.

Roughly one-fifth of Anthropic’s revenue came from two customers, with the remaining revenue also concentrated among a relatively small group of clients. Customer concentration can create a risk if a major customer reduces its spending, switches providers or renegotiates commercial terms. Investors will therefore need to examine whether Anthropic can broaden its customer base as its revenue grows.
